# Account Setup: Get Your Nulix Workspace Ready to Use

> Create your Nulix account, set up your first workspace, invite your team, and configure essential settings before you start publishing content.

Account setup is the foundation of your Nulix experience. This page walks you through creating an account, launching your first workspace, bringing in teammates, and dialing in the basic settings you need before you start publishing content.

**1. Sign Up**

Go to [app.nulix.io/signup](https://app.nulix.io/signup) and create your account. Enter your email address and choose a password, or sign in instantly using your existing **Google** or **GitHub** account.

**2. Verify Your Email**

After signing up, check your inbox for a confirmation email from Nulix. Click the verification link inside to activate your account. If you don't see it within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder.

**3. Create Your First Workspace**

Once verified, Nulix prompts you to create your first workspace. Enter a **workspace name** — typically your company or team name — and choose a **URL slug** that will form your knowledge base address (e.g., `yourcompany.nulix.io`). Pick something short, memorable, and representative of your brand.

**4. Invite Your Team (Optional)**

You can add teammates right away or skip this step and come back later. To invite people now, go to **Settings → Team**, enter each teammate's email address, and assign them a role. Teammates receive an email invitation to join your workspace.

**5. Configure Basic Settings**

Head to **Settings → General** to set your **timezone** — used for scheduling and analytics timestamps — and adjust your **notification preferences** to control which activity alerts you receive by email. Taking a moment to configure these now saves friction later.

## Workspace URL

Your workspace URL is the public address where readers access your knowledge base. It's built from the **slug** you chose during setup and takes the form `yourslug.nulix.io`. This slug appears in every article link you share, so choose one that reflects your brand clearly.

If you need to rename your workspace or update the slug after setup, you can do so at any time from [Workspace Settings](https://docs.nulix.io/admin/workspace-settings.md). Keep in mind that changing the slug will update all existing URLs, so plan any rename carefully to avoid breaking links you've already shared externally.

> [!TIP]
>
> Want a fully branded address like `help.yourcompany.com`? You can point a custom domain to your Nulix workspace at no extra configuration complexity. See [Custom Domain](https://docs.nulix.io/customization/custom-domain.md) for a step-by-step walkthrough.

> [!NOTE]
>
> On the **free plan**, each account is limited to **1 workspace** and up to **3 team members**. Upgrade to a paid plan to create additional workspaces and collaborate with a larger team. You can review and change your plan at any time in [Workspace Settings](https://docs.nulix.io/admin/workspace-settings.md).
