# Quickstart: Register Your Device in Minutes

> Create your knowledge base, write your first article, and share it with your audience — all in under 10 minutes with this step-by-step guide.

This guide walks you through everything you need to go from zero to a live, published knowledge base. By the end, you'll have a Nulix workspace set up, your first article written and published, and a shareable URL ready to send to your audience. No prior experience required — just a few minutes and something worth documenting.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Nulix offers a **14-day free trial** with full access to all features — no credit card required. You can explore every capability, including AI search and custom branding, before choosing a plan.

**1. Create your account**

Head to [platform.nulix.io](https://platform.nulix.io) and sign up with your email address or via Google SSO.

After you submit the registration form, Nulix sends a verification email to the address you provided. Open that email and click **Verify my email** to activate your account and land on your new workspace dashboard.

> [!TIP]
>
> Use your work email address when signing up — it makes it easier to invite teammates from the same domain later.

**2. Set up your knowledge base**

Once you're inside your workspace, click **Create knowledge base** on the dashboard. Fill in the following fields:

| Field | Description |
| - | - |
| **Name** | The display name readers will see, e.g. *Acme Help Center* |
| **URL slug** | The unique identifier for your public URL, e.g. `acme-help` |
| **Theme color** | Pick a hex color that matches your brand (your default is `#ef7025`) |

Click **Create** to provision your knowledge base. Nulix generates a public URL in the format `https://<slug>.nulix.io` automatically.

> [!NOTE]
>
> You can connect a custom domain (e.g. `help.yourcompany.com`) at any time from **Settings → Custom Domain**. See the [Custom Domain guide](https://docs.nulix.io/customization/custom-domain.md) for step-by-step instructions.

**3. Write your first article**

From your knowledge base dashboard, click **New Article**. The Nulix editor opens with a blank canvas.

1. Enter a clear, descriptive title in the **Title** field at the top.
2. Write your content in the editor below — use the toolbar for rich text formatting, or switch to **Markdown mode** using the toggle in the top-right corner.
3. Optionally, assign the article to a **Category** using the right-hand panel so readers can find it through your navigation.
4. When you're ready, click **Publish** to make the article live.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Clicking **Save draft** keeps the article private and invisible to readers. Make sure you click **Publish** when you're ready for the article to go live.

**4. Share with your audience**

Your knowledge base is now live. Copy the public URL from the address bar or find it under **Settings → General** and share it with your customers, paste it into your app's help button, or add it to your website footer.

To bring teammates on board, navigate to **Settings → Team Members**, enter their email addresses, and assign them a role. Collaborators can start drafting and editing articles right away.

> [!TIP]
>
> Pin your knowledge base URL in your team's Slack channel or Notion so everyone has quick access to the latest content.
