# Common Questions About Nulix: Features, Billing, and More

> Find answers to the most common questions about Nulix — from getting started and managing content to billing, backups, and platform capabilities.

This page brings together the questions our users ask most often. If you're new to Nulix, start here to get a solid understanding of what the platform does and how it works. If you can't find what you're looking for, the [Troubleshooting](https://docs.nulix.io/support/troubleshooting.md) page covers specific technical issues, and our support team is always happy to help.

## Common Questions

> **What is Nulix and who is it for?**
>
> Nulix is a structured knowledge base platform designed to help teams create, organize, and share information with customers, users, or internal colleagues. It's built for product and support teams who need a reliable, searchable, and brandable home for their documentation — from simple help centers to large, multi-audience knowledge bases.

> **How is Nulix different from a blog or wiki?**
>
> Unlike a blog, Nulix is built around structured categories and audiences rather than reverse-chronological posts — it's optimized for reference content that users need to find quickly. Compared to a wiki, Nulix offers purpose-built features like AI-powered search, custom branding, role-based access control, audience segmentation, and a publishing workflow, giving you more control over what gets published and who can see it.

> **Can I have multiple knowledge bases?**
>
> Yes. Nulix supports multiple knowledge bases within a single account, each with its own branding, custom domain, category structure, and audience settings. This is useful if you serve multiple products, brands, or customer tiers that require separate documentation portals. The number of knowledge bases you can create depends on your plan — check the pricing page or contact sales for details.

> **Does Nulix support multiple languages?**
>
> Nulix supports multilingual content through separate article sets — you can create language-specific versions of articles and organize them under dedicated categories or knowledge bases. A first-class localization feature with automatic language detection and side-by-side translation management is on the product roadmap. In the meantime, many teams use the API to sync translated content into Nulix from their existing localization workflows.

> **How do I migrate content from another platform?**
>
> Nulix provides a bulk import tool that accepts Markdown files and structured JSON exports from popular platforms such as Zendesk Guide, Intercom Articles, and Confluence. Go to **Settings > Import** and follow the guided flow to map your existing categories and content. For large or complex migrations, the REST API gives you full programmatic control — see the [API Access](https://docs.nulix.io/integrations/api-access.md) page for details. If you need hands-on migration assistance, our Enterprise plan includes a dedicated onboarding specialist.

> **What happens when I exceed my article or user limit?**
>
> Nulix will notify you by email as you approach your plan limits. If you exceed the article limit, you can still edit and delete existing articles, but you won't be able to publish new ones until you upgrade or free up space. Exceeding the user seat limit prevents you from inviting additional team members. You can upgrade your plan at any time from **Settings > Billing**, and the change takes effect immediately.

> **Is my content backed up?**
>
> Yes. Nulix automatically backs up all workspace data — including articles, categories, media, and settings — on a daily basis with a 30-day retention window. You can also export a full snapshot of your knowledge base at any time from **Settings > Export**. Enterprise customers receive more frequent backups and extended retention. Nulix infrastructure is hosted on redundant, geo-distributed cloud infrastructure with high availability guarantees.

> **How do I cancel my subscription?**
>
> You can cancel your subscription at any time from **Settings > Billing > Cancel Plan**. Your workspace remains fully active until the end of the current billing period, after which it transitions to a read-only state. Your data is retained for 60 days post-cancellation, giving you time to export everything before permanent deletion. If you cancel by mistake or change your mind, reactivate your plan within that 60-day window to restore full access.
