Articles are the building blocks of your Nulix knowledge base. Whether you’re documenting a product feature, writing a how-to guide, or publishing release notes, the Nulix article editor gives you the tools to craft polished, well-structured content and get it in front of the right audience in minutes.

Creating and Publishing an Article

1

Navigate to New Article

From your Nulix dashboard, open your knowledge base and click New Article in the top-right corner. You can also create an article directly from within a category by clicking the + icon next to the category name in the sidebar.
2

Add a Title and Choose a Category

Enter a clear, descriptive title in the Article Title field. Then use the Category dropdown to assign the article to an existing category, or create a new one on the spot. Choosing the right category keeps your knowledge base navigable and helps readers find related content.
3

Write Your Content

Use the rich text toolbar at the top of the editor to format your content — apply headings, bold and italic text, ordered and unordered lists, and more with a single click. Prefer working in plain text? Switch to Markdown Mode at any time (see Markdown Mode below). Nulix automatically syncs both views, so you can move between them freely.
4

Add SEO Metadata

Expand the SEO panel in the right-hand sidebar to fill in the meta title, meta description, and keywords for this article. Well-crafted metadata improves discoverability in external search engines and helps Nulix’s AI search surface the article to readers asking relevant questions.
5

Set Visibility

In the Visibility panel, choose who can read this article:
  • Public — visible to all visitors
  • Audience-gated — restricted to a specific audience group
  • Draft — saved but not visible to any readers
See Visibility & Access for a full breakdown of each option.
6

Publish Your Article

When you’re happy with the content and settings, click Publish in the top-right corner. The article goes live immediately (or remains in draft if you chose that visibility state). You can return to edit or unpublish the article at any time from the article list.

Editor Features

The Nulix rich text editor supports a wide range of formatting and media options so your articles stay clear and engaging:
  • Text formatting — Headings (H1–H4), bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, inline code, and blockquotes
  • Lists — Ordered lists, unordered lists, and nested sub-lists
  • Image uploads — Drag and drop images directly into the editor or upload from your device; images are hosted and served by Nulix
  • Code blocks — Insert syntax-highlighted code blocks and select the language from a dropdown
  • Tables — Create and resize tables with inline editing for rows, columns, and cell content
  • Callout boxes — Highlight tips, warnings, notes, and info with colour-coded callout blocks
  • Embedded videos — Paste a YouTube or Vimeo URL to embed a video player directly in the article body
Click the Preview button (eye icon) in the top toolbar before you publish. Preview renders your article exactly as readers will see it, including visibility-gated elements and custom branding, so you can catch formatting issues before they go live.

Markdown Mode

If you prefer writing in plain Markdown, Nulix has you covered. To switch modes, click the </> toggle in the editor toolbar. The editor switches to a raw Markdown view while keeping your formatting intact. Switch back to the rich text view at any time — Nulix converts your Markdown automatically. All editor features, including SEO metadata and visibility settings, remain accessible in both modes. Here’s an example of common Markdown syntax you can use in Nulix:
Nulix supports CommonMark Markdown with a few Nulix-specific extensions for callout boxes and embedded media. Standard Markdown tables, task lists, and fenced code blocks are all supported.
